A Wrap-Up of The Texas Blue Jay Project!

UPDATE:

On June 2017, I started a birding project called The Texas Blue Jay Project to encourage Texans to explore/learn about birds and birdwatching in their backyard, city, and state parks. I traveled across Texas teaching Texans about birds and birdwatching. Many of the people that I met had never tried birdwatching. So, I decided to create a paper pledge for Texans to sign stating that they will explore the birds in their backyard, city, and state parks.

I am thrilled to announce that The Texas Blue Jay Project Pledge collected over 2,500 signatures from Texans throughout the State of Texas who pledged to explore birds and birdwatching! (2017-2019)

I started The Texas Blue Jay Project Bird Book Drive in 2018 to collect used bird books for schools, nature clubs, and community events/organizations. These donated bird books were meant for their use of starting up a birding/ornithology club in their schools, nature clubs, and community events/organizations. With the support and generosity of birders throughout Texas who donated their used bird books we were able to collect a total of 200 used bird books to donate to schools, nature clubs, and several Texas communities. (2018-2019)

Thank You to Texas Birders who donated their bird books to The Texas Blue Jay Project! And "Thank You" to all the community organizations that hosted The Texas Blue Jay Project at their community events/festivals!

Also, I would like to "Thank" the libraries who allowed me to place a The Texas Blue Jay Project Bird Book Drive Box at their libraries !

Thank you for inspiring future bird conservationists/birders!
